Career Direct

Career Direct for students and working professionals alike

Assessment to determine your career direction

According to my research, here are some of the top reasons why people look for a new job:

  1. Higher Salary – Many people seek better pay to improve their financial situation.
  2. Lack of Career Growth – Limited opportunities for promotions or skill development push employees to look elsewhere.
  3. Toxic Work Environment – A negative workplace culture, bad management, or office politics can drive people away.
  4. Better Work-Life Balance – Employees may want more flexible hours, remote work, or reduced stress.
  5. Lack of Recognition and Appreciation – Feeling undervalued or overlooked for contributions can cause dissatisfaction.
  6. Burnout and Excessive Workload – Overwork without proper compensation or breaks leads to job changes.
  7. Company Instability – Concerns about layoffs, financial struggles, or leadership changes create job insecurity.
  8. Better Benefits and Perks – Health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks matter in job decisions.
  9. Lack of Purpose or Meaning – Employees seek work that aligns with their values or interests.
  10. More Flexible Work Arrangements – The need for remote work, freelance, or part-time options.

Do any of these resonate with you?  It’s important that you identify your top priorities. Which ones resonate the most with you?

For example, are you looking for:

  • A higher salary?
  • More work-life balance?
  • Career growth?
  • A better work environment?
  • A complete career change?

Once you assess your current situation, you’ll have a better idea of:

  • How much change is needed? (Small adjustments vs. a major shift)
  • What are your current options? (Promotion, new company, new industry, or new role)
  • What obstacles might be in the way?

You then create an action plan- this is where Career Direct comes into play.  Based on your priorities, I’ll help you develop a strategy to either improve your current job or transition to a better one.

However, it will also point out blind spots you may not have considered or even discover that you were on the wrong career path to begin with.  This is why a Career Direct Assessment is so important.

When you invest in this assessment you get:

  • Access to an assessment that will determine the very best options for a career choice and /or advancement tailored to exactly how you are and how you think. This is not a one size fits all.
  • You will receive a full review and explanation of your assessment as I am a qualified, trained professional in this tool.
  • This assessment covers four key areas: personality, interests, skills, and values. This is the only assessment that will consider your values when seeking a career or job. No other assessment will take this into consideration.
  • Receive a 35+ page report you get to keep for yourself via email as a PDF .
  • Multiple links and resources are attached to your report for further exploration if you are interested in doing so.
